After a long, long time, you can now read a new newsletter about recent exhibitions and projects. I now call this newsletter “Shutter stories” and plan to send one out more often than once every 3 years.

ANSICHTSSACHE DÜSSELDORF
LEICA GALLERY DÜSSELDORF

Ulla Born, director of the Leica Gallery Düsseldorf, has curated a group exhibition with the theme “Duesseldorf”.
Alongside Franziska Stünkel, Sabine Wild and Marcus Schwier, she asked me about my interpretation or view of the city. I was very happy to answer this question and abstracted architectural fragments for the exhibition using multiple exposures.
The results were beautifully printed by WhiteWall on metal plates by ChromaLuxe and presented in a brand new 6mm shadow gap frame made of walnut wood.
The vernissage was great, the patron of the exhibition and Mayor of Düsseldorf, Clara Gerlach, was there along with many other guests.
☝️ By the way, these and other artworks are available in strictly limited and small editions in two sizes.

ARTIST TALK
Oct 26, 2024, 4 pm
On October 26 at 4 pm, there will be an artist talk with the gallery director Ulla Born and me at the Leica Store Düsseldorf about my works Interferenz.
It’s about the idea behind the pictures, the influence of expressionist painting, the way of presentation and the principle of “serendipity”, finding something you weren’t looking for.
It’s free of charge, come along, I look forward to seeing you!

YEAST Photofestival, Matino, Italy

YEAST Photofestival was born in 2021 with the aim of investigating and promoting a renewed relationship between man and the environment through the language of photography and visual arts.
It’s an honor for me to be an exhibition neighbor of so wonderful colleagues like Pablo Piovano, Carolina Arantes, Kadir van Lohuizen Axel Javier Sulzbacher.
A cow is more than the sum of its usable parts. From a nutritional perspective, humans believe that the individual elements constitute the animal. In Western culture in particular, we either see the animal as a whole and want to cuddle it, or reduced to a few parts.
My images confront the viewer with a different perspective, and perhaps urge them to enter into a kind of visual dialog with this subject.

Porsche 911 Dakar
I had the great pleasure of accompanying and photographing this fantastic vehicle with a wonderful team from Porsche Middle East & Africa and KeKo Dubai through the desert and mountains around Dubai.
